Admissions

Families of Saint Patrick Parish and the Carlisle Barracks Catholic community who desire an educational experience founded on the Catholic philosophy of education have equal eligibility for admission to Saint Patrick School.

The request for admission of students from Saint Patrick Parish are reviewed based on the family’s parish registration, coupled with their commitment in church attendance and faithful parish support.

After accommodating the eligible families of Saint Patrick Parish and the Carlisle Barracks Catholic community, Saint Patrick School may provide space for children from other Catholic parishes without schools and from families of other faiths.

For Catholic parishioners of Saint Patrick Parish the minimal expectation for eligibility is as follows:

  • Proper registration of the family in Saint Patrick Parish
  • Active practice of the Catholic faith by the family as evidenced in weekly attendance at Mass, participation in the sacramental life of the parish, and in school and parish activities
  • Financial support of the parish through the use of weekly church envelopes or other identifiable means

Families registered in the parish who fail to fulfill the above listed qualifications will be expected to pay the non-Catholic rate.

Saint Patrick School will not discriminate based on sex, race, religion, national origin, age, physical handicap or disability. Enrollment shall not exceed 25 students in any class except when approved by the principal and the pastor.

For admission to 1st grade, a child shall be 6 by September 1 of the school year in question. Children who reach the age of 5 by September 1 may be admitted to kindergarten. A school screening evaluates the child’s vision, hearing, physical development, ability to listen and follow directions, and fine motor skills.

Saint Patrick School is blessed to offer a variety of scholarship and assistance options to our families. For more information about scholarship availability, please contact the school office.

Scholarships

Saint Katharine Drexel Scholarship: This fund is available for financially needy students. Anyone wishing to be a “tuition angel” can donate to this tax-deductible fund. This is an effective way to help us keep our commitment to provide a Catholic education to everyone who wants one.

Neumann Scholarship: The Diocese of Harrisburg, in response to the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit Law (EITC), created the Neumann Scholarship Foundation. The EITC program provides tax credits to businesses that contribute to qualified scholarship organizations.

The Neumann Scholarship Foundation has been approved by the State of Pennsylvania as a qualified scholarship organization. All scholarships offered by the Foundation are provided in accord with the laws governing this program.

Scholarships are offered to qualified students who are residents of Pennsylvania and attending Catholic schools in the Diocese of Harrisburg, on a basis of need. In order to meet the state requirements, the scholarship organizations must demonstrate that families meet the state eligibility requirements.

The Neumann Scholarship Foundation has contracted with FACTS tuition management to process the information provided by families applying for scholarships. FACTS will provide the Neumann Scholarship Foundation with a relative ranking of need among the eligible families. The Foundation will award scholarships on the basis of this information. Scholarships are available for grades preK to 8.

Transfer Scholarships: Saint Patrick School offers a special transfer scholarship to local public or homeschooled students entering grades 1-6. Scholarships provide $1,000 off the first year’s tuition and $500 off the second year, for each child who transfers. Receipt of a transfer scholarship does not disqualify families from needs-based financial assistance, if necessary.

Other Scholarships: We usually are the recipients of other smaller scholarships from generous donors. We use the same FACTS program used by the Neumann Scholarship Foundation to determine need.

Tuition

In order to provide and maintain a high-quality education for all students, it is necessary to charge tuition to help offset the parish financial responsibility to the school.

Parish families unable to meet the financial requirements may request tuition assistance, prior to their child’s admittance into the new school year. All arrangements are strictly confidential.

Saint Patrick School uses FACTS for its tuition collection. An invoice by email or mail, depending on your preference, will be sent from FACTS each month with the tuition amount due. If you choose to pay annually, you will receive one invoice by email or mail. A 10-month payment plan is available from July through April. All tuition must be paid by the 5 or the 20th of the month, depending on the date you chose in your tuition payment agreement.
