Coaches are the backbone of our teams - without them, there are no teams.
We're facing a crucial situation for our boys in 3rd - 6th grades and girls in grades 3rd - 4th basketball teams. We need coaches to step up and lead these young athletes.
The reality is if we can't find coaches for these teams soon, we might have to cancel them. But we believe in our community, and we know there are passionate individuals out there who can make a difference.
If you're interested in coaching or know someone who is, please reach out to Rich Beish, SPS Athletic Director, at athleticdirector@
Diocesan Clearance Guidelines
To all potential coaches, please note: All coaches must have a diocesan clearance. This clearance process typically takes up to 5 weeks to complete.
Our exciting season kicks off on November 1st, which means time is of the essence! For more in-depth information and guidance on obtaining your clearance badge, you can find comprehensive details on our school's website.
Feel free to contact the SPS office for any assistance or questions. You can contact us at [email protected] or give us a call at (717) 249-4826.

Are you not sure you can commit to a whole season or every game, but you want to volunteer?
No worries, we can always use more volunteers to coach at other levels that are not mentioned. We can always use the help.
Saint Patrick School cannot offer Sports without you! We need you!! All our coaches are volunteer-approved parents. As a coach, you will have the entire Saint Patrick School family behind you for support, along with coaching clinics and our Positive Coaching online classes.
You’ll get to spend more time with your child! Your child might only be 8 years old now, but there will come a time when they will naturally start to spend more time with friends and teammates and less time hanging out with mom and dad. Coaching his or her team is a wonderful way to keep a strong connection.
You’ll expand your social network! Let’s face it, it’s not always easy for busy adults to make new friends. But getting involved in our kids’ teams can be an introduction to like-minded families who value physical activity, and sometimes life-long bonds are forged.
You’ll come away with a sense of pride and accomplishment! Goals don’t always need to be that huge… dribbling the ball for the first time can be just as rewarding as sinking a 3-pointer to a player and to a coach who has worked tirelessly on helping that player reach that milestone.
You’ll have fun! The number one reason kids play a sport is because it’s fun. And honestly, so is coaching. Remember, kids STOP playing sports when they stop having fun.
