Meet Theresa

I'm Theresa Riskis, and I'm thrilled to be starting my third year of volunteering at SPS (St. Patrick's School). Let me share a bit about myself.

​Educational Background and Career
I spent 37 years working in the civilian sector of the Army before embracing retirement a few years ago. My background and experience from my career have definitely played a role in my volunteer work.

​Family and Hobbies
Interestingly, both of my sons are proud SPS alums, and I have my own fond memories of attending St. Pat's on Pomfret Street many years ago. Besides my dedication to education, I love spending my free time with my family and pursuing my hobbies.

​Volunteering with WIN Time
I have the privilege of working with students ranging from Kindergarten to 4th Grade at SPS, primarily focusing on Math and Reading. My passion lies in helping children with these fundamental subjects, and I find great satisfaction in nurturing their confidence, especially when they face challenges. I understand that every young mind is unique, and I enjoy the challenge of finding the best ways to support each student.
As a volunteer, I can't wait to connect with each student and make this year another fantastic one at St. Patrick's School.
