To keep our school running smoothly and safely, we rely on a variety of volunteer help. Whether it’s assisting in the lunchroom, the classroom, or at special events, we have plenty of opportunities for families to be involved. Many, but not all, of our volunteer activities, involve the completion of a background check required by the Diocese of Harrisburg and the state of Pennsylvania.
The clearance process can take up to a few weeks. Clearances are good for five years. The process is in place to ensure that all adults who may spend any time alone with our children have the proper clearances for the safety of everyone involved.

Various opportunities are available for those with clearances who wish to help in the classroom. Some of the younger grades seek the help of parents for “Centers” or in chaperoning class field trips. Sometimes the teachers will request assistance with a special class party or event.
Sometimes, teachers or the office will put out a special call for helpers. If you have a special skill or talent you’re looking to share, please contact your child’s teacher or the homeroom parent, and we will see how we might best use your service.
Each family is asked to help with lunch duty at least three times a year. If your family is having trouble fulfilling this responsibility due to work schedules or other commitments, you may ask aunts, uncles, grandparents, or friends to fulfill this duty on your behalf.
Assigned by grade and communicated through the homeroom parent, the monthly volunteer requests are typically facilitated using the "Time To Sign Up" method. We greatly appreciate families considering participation beyond the three shifts, and we encourage everyone to assist even during unexpected lunchtime needs.
Lunch duty is from 10:15 a.m. to noon on a typical day and involves helping to distribute condiments and utensils, assisting with any student questions or needs with their lunch, as well as wiping down tables between lunch shifts. Three lunch duty helpers are required per day.

We are always looking for coaches. All coaches must have a diocesan clearanceses to work with the kids on the field. You may contact us any time (the sooner, the better!), and we can guide you in who to work with at the school to get your clearances. Please consider volunteering your time!
